Piano Alexandra Silocea

Alexandra Silocea captivates audiences with her emotionally powerful performances and innovative approach to classical music. A dedicated advocate for expanding classical music’s reach, she fosters new audiences through diverse cultural collaborations.

She bridges music and art in partnership with renowned institutions such as the National Gallery London, Heidi Horten Collection Vienna, Wien Museum, Belvedere, Mozart Haus, Gustav Mahler Society, and the Schönberg Center, making both music and art more accessible.

Returning for her fourth consecutive edition at the Enescu Festival 2025, she previously performed with the Svetlanov Orchestra (2019) and Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra (2021) under Vladimir Jurowski, as well as Fazıl Say’s Piano Concerto “WATER” (2023) with the G. Enescu Philharmonic conducted by Alexandre Bloch.

In September 2025, she presents her new concept, Klimt Meets Bösendorfer – Ver Sacrum, in two performances at the Museum of Immersive New Art, Bucharest together with her invited guest, mezzo-soprano Patricia Nolz.

On October 10, 2024, she was invited by the National Gallery London to curate and perform the 85th Myra Hess Anniversary Concert. At the Heidi Horten Collection, Vienna, she performed three times in 2024, curating a special program for the LIGHT SOUND SENSES exhibition, featuring Austrian premieres by Nimrod Borenstein and Martin Romberg, fragrances by Yogesh Parfum, and choreography by Chazz Del-Logen Cooks, who recently performed at the Paris Olympic Games Ceremony with Lady Gaga.

In 2025, Alexandra continues her collaborations with contemporary composers. A new CD with works by Norwegian composer Martin Romberg will be released in March on LAWO. Chilean composer Luis Saglie has written Piano Concerto No. 1, The Kookaburra for Alexandra, published by Universal Edition and premiering in June 2025 at Teatro Municipal de Santiago with conductor Alejandra Urrutia and the Orquesta Filarmónica de Santiago.

She has pioneered a unique format, Klimt Meets Bösendorfer – The Tree of Life, blending solo piano, Gustav Klimt’s songs, poetry, and a limited-edition Bösendorfer grand piano. This concept premiered at the Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien and has since been featured at the London Craft Week, Heidi Horten Collection, with esteemed artists such as mezzo-sopranos Kate Lindsey and Ruxandra Donose and actors Vikky Stone, Nicole Beutler, Till Firit, and Peter Windhofer.

Alexandra is performing with leading orchestras, including the London Philharmonic, Berlin Radio Symphony, Bamberg Symphony, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Montreal Chamber Orchestra, Gävle Symphony, Kymi Sinfonietta, Oulu Symphony, Meininger Hofkapelle, and Bucharest Radio National and Chamber Orchestra, working with conductors Vladimir Jurowski, Jakub Hrůša, Leo McFall, Delyana Lazarova, Alexandre Bloch, Roderick Cox, Philippe Bach, Pablo González, Gerard Korsten, and Christian Badea.

A Bösendorfer Artist for over 20 years, Alexandra has been invited to major festivals, including Enescu, Ravinia, Dvořák, Brighton, Rydale, and the Mahler Festival. Her performances have been broadcast by BBC Radio 3, Radio France, ORF, Mezzo, and Marquee TV, and she has appeared at prestigious venues such as the Vienna Musikverein and Konzerthaus, Carnegie Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Bridgewater Hall, and Wigmore Hall, where she performed four-hands with her mentor, Elisabeth Leonskaja, in celebration of her 70th birthday concert.

Mentored by Giuseppe Ravì (Respiro e Movimento®), Elisabeth Leonskaja, Maria João Pires, and for many years by the late Radu Lupu, Alexandra contributed to the 2023 bilingual book In Memoriam Radu Lupu alongside artists Nelson Goerner, Murray Perahia, Lawrence Foster, and others.

Since 2022, she has been a piano professor at the Friedrich Gulda School of Music Conservatory in Vienna. She has released three critically acclaimed CDs on Avie Records: Prokofiev Piano Sonatas 1-5, Sound Waves, and a chamber music album featuring works by Enescu, Prokofiev, and Shostakovich.

Performing under the Patronage of the Duchess of Rutland, Alexandra continues to push creative boundaries. 

In August 2024, she launched the Piano Fortissimo Podcast, featuring esteemed international guests. On social media, she is captivating audiences with her viral educational and behind-the-scenes insights.
